So after much debate, I have decided on what setup to run on my currently stock 1996 2 Door Yukon. I am going to get the RCX 6" suspension lift kit, but not use the add-a-leaf and decrank on the bars, so basically it'll be a 5" front/4" rear lift. With this setup, I'm going to run 295/75/16 General Grabber AT2's (33.4" x 11.6") on 16x8 American Racing Baja 172 rims with 4.5" backspacing and 0 offset.

Does anyone see any issues with this setup? I thinik it'll work out perfectly, and still have room to grow when I decide to re-gear and go to 35's down the road.

My main question was this: Can I run a 35" all-terrain tire on a 16x8 rim? Does anyone do it? While I will be running 33's at first, if I decide to go to 35's a few years from now, I would prefer not to have to buy new rims. Or is there a better option of rim in a 16 or 17 that would work well for a 33" and a 35" that I should go ahead and get now, instead of the AR Baja in a 16x8?

I don't want my tires to stick out crazy far, so I will never run a tire with a section width of more than 12.5".

Any pics or advice would be great. I want to do this right the first time, and then be able to go higher later on without spending a whole lot of extra money.

Perfect setup. Don't worry at all.

16x8 with 4.5" BS is ideal. I run a 17x8 with a 35x12.5" tire and I think it looks great. The tires stick out maybe an inch past the flares.

I think you will be very happy with this choice.

I knew I could count on you BowTie!

So in your opinion, if I'm gonna run 33's right now and maybe 35's a few years from now, would you get a 16x8 or a 17x8 rim? I only want to buy rims once.

personal preferance. 16" wheels offer lower cost tires.....but limit you with bigger brakes. I run stock diameter brakes and do just fine.

Look at the cost of a 33x12.5x16 vs. a 33x12.5x17 and you will understand.
