I am trying to trade in a 2012 Yukon XL Denali that is carbon black with black interior. The options are Nav, two TV's, side blind zone, and sunroof. It has 36,200 miles. They offered me $34,500. This seemed pretty low. Anyone else recently trade in something similar. If so what were you given as trade allowance?

Honestly it's going to be all over the map depending on the area.

Look up NADA and KBB for your zipcode and be prepared to be offered a few thousand less than "bad condition" and then try to negotiate up from there.

my buddy just paid 48 for a 13 loaded LTZ tahoe with about 15k on it. He wanted a Denali but said they were another 5-8k.

I would definetely try to private party the truck on your own.

As mentioned your best bet is to try and sell the truck private party. Hopefully you'll find someone that has only been shopping local dealers.

Within the last four months I purchased a NNBS (vehicle in sig) and sold a NBS and the market is soft for large SUVs. A quick five minute search and I found several comparable 12 Denali's for less than you were offered on trade! For what it's worth, I bought my pristine, loaded, 11 XL Denali, out of TX, last October, and paid less than you were offered as well.

34,500 is a good find for a clean Denali with 35k. I would try to private sell for more. What is there to loose?
