(I've been emailing Tony to death lately, so I thought I'd ask the question here to free up Tony's in box and so that others can learn from the question, too. I recently added the CORRECT Belltech rear lowering kit to my '09 Tahoe (had the wrong springs in previously).)
So, I have the 3"-4" Belltech rear springs/spacers/shock relocators/new sensor links for AUTORIDE in my '09 Tahoe now. I've got the spacers in and have the stock autoride links in (that were adjusted slightly when the previous springs were put in). I've driven it all weekend, so I think the springs have settled. I'm at @ 36.5"-37" (ground to center of wheel well lip) now -- and yesterday I DID notice the compressor came on and aired the rear up @ 1/4".
If I want to go a little lower in the rear, what step or COMBO of STEPS should I do next?
Should I:
1. Leave everything the same, except put in the Belltech autoride links at @ 3"
2. Leave everything the same, but pull the 1" spacers out
3. Pull the spacers out AND replace the stock links with the Belltech links?
I would think that option #1 would keep the compressor from airing up the shocks at all, right? Option #2 would probably make the shocks air up if I don't change the links, yes? But option #3 would yield the maximum drop, and that could be a bit too low, right?
I guess option #4 would be to pull the spacer, and install the Belltech links, but at something MORE than 3" apart...
Let me know what I ought to try next, please. And, if you have an idea, if you could tell me where the rear wheel well SHOULD sit with the different options, I'd appreciate that, too.
Thanks!
