Those are the headlights I have, same as my pic, etc. I had an 08 Cobalt at one point that I installed HIDs on and I like them. A lot. But I only had one problem. Since the housings were designed for halogens, there were a lot of hotspots and dead spots. These housings have a little tab in front of the low beam bulb, and you can tell when near a wall, its half cut off so to say, I can take a pic for reference, but it may have to wait a day or two. Anyways, will standard HID bulbs fit in these housings? With halogens I notice some dead spots with these housings. You think that HIDs will be more dead? or do better? The highs are comepletly rounded, I can take pics for reference, but unlike the low housing, this is completely smooth, not angled. HID? The last set of HID were from DDM and originally for my Impala, but got put on my Cobalt, and went with it when I sold it.

Also, off topic, but anyone with these housings, theres a small bulb that goes into the low beam housing... wtf is that for? its not the actual halogen light bulb but a little tiny bulb.

unknown at this time.
9006 type hid bulbs will fit. that blocker or the gray stuff you see on the tip of halogen 9006 is to keep the arc point or filament from creating a pin point blinding effect on others facing you. The hids will do better but it is the lack of full reflectivity in each housing which is causing bad light output.

actually the light output outdoes my stock set up. I am debating on getting HIDs... I want to but will they fit without modification like the site says? I never saw DDMs bulb size.

They should fit. Many will state that as to not be liable for any issues you may have. It should fit no worries. You will notice better lighting if you ditch the black housing and either get true projector housing or get a reflective housing as opposed to the cool looking black.

it is actually a reflector housing, ill take pics in the morning....
honestly, if I really wanted to, I could probably take the housing apart and remove the (fake) carbon fiber trim....
and if I got a projector off ebay, well thats a halogen projector i believe... hence why I never put HIDs in my Imp, the projectors were halogen and I did one, turned the lights on and my god it was horrible... and how much does a true HID projector cost xD

Jesus, I'm getting old. I think I need a translator for this post....
Sorry, it's me not you... I just don't have the energy needed to figure out this post...must be that newfangled txt language. I can't figure that out either. Ha....

EDIT: Ontopic... +1 on dumping the carbon backing if you do night driving. During the day they look really nice, but light output suffers from a lack of reflection.
