i just installed 55w 8k lows and used to have 35w 6k lows. All day yesterday my drivers side was out, i tried switching ballast that didnt work so i left it and was gunna deal with it later, later last night it was working again wtf. Then today my passenger one was out then when i got home they were both back on again. Can anyone explain this?

to be honest i think when you start it one doesn't get enough power.
just turn them off wait about 5 to 10 minutes and turn them back on that should help you at least it works for me.

Do you have a wire harness?

I just replaced my 35w 8000k lows with DDM 55w 8000ks. I hooked them up using the harness that was already there for the 35w ones. The first night I went to the store and when I left the driver side one wasn't coming on. The next day I switched to the DDM wire harness and everything has been working fine. The old harness had a relay and fuse for each light. The DDM harness has only one relay and fuse. I ended up using the old harness for my HID DRLs.

@Kyleg234: I have them in factory projectors on my Denali and they are much brighter than the 35w 8000ks I had. I have my windshield tinted too but want to go darker which is why I upgraded to 55w.

so your saying the harness that is somewhat connected to the ddm bulbs has a relay and a fuse built into into them? or are you talking about the $10 option you have for the dual in dual out harness?

Did you try switching the bulbs? I had this problem with my hids I put the left on the right and right on the left and then they worked fine. I have no idea why but just a suggestion
