HID's with entrance / exit lighting?

So one of the things I like about my 08 Yukon Denali is that when I hit the keys, the lights come on and the puddle lights shine. I think it's a cool feature and in a dark parking lot or garage, just makes it easy to see the vehicle etc.

With HID's, wouldn't this feature need to be turned off? I know it's not ideal for them to be powered on multiple times back to back etc, so this feature I love would be a no go?

Anyone do HID install and retain this feature or does everyone shut it off?

I have been running HID lows for several years with this feature and haven't had any issues. Get decent bulbs and ballasts and run a relay harness and forget about it.
