My headlights suck horribly, and I do alot of driving when its dark (to and from work almost daily). So I was considering a set of HIDs, but I'm not quite sure exactly what I need. Can someone with some HID experience lead me in the right direction. 97 tahoe. Thanks in advance.

Is there anything else id need? and why is there no point in getting high beam hids?

because hids have to warm up and it takes 2-3 seconds sometimes and if you need to flash someone you wouldnt be able to and if you have 6k youll never need your high beams. and you dont need anything else. btw ddm is noturios for horrible customer service with shipping. i orderd some 10 k's last friday and still have not shiped, ive heard storys when they dont even ship for months soo imma direct you towards something of the same quatly just a couple bucks more and youll get them fast. http://www.amazon.com/Zenex-Convers..._8?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1300414285&sr=1-8 order those and youll be set. and are your headlight lens' fogged up and nasty?

Tbh, all I see is issues with folks with HIDs, halos, and the like ... maybe it's the vocal minority or something and most are happy with theirs. *shrug*

I just found the whole thing too complicated, and given than when I saw all three lit side to side and barely could tell the difference, I slapped on low and high beam Silverstars and called it a day.

I hope it works out well for you ... I must say when those things are installed and working right they do look good. :waytogo:

unknown at this time.
The best setup and should be a standard :imo: in exterior lighting upgrades is crystal clear head lamp assemblies. Couple that with DDM Tunining 35w at about 6000 kelvin for lows and Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's in high beams. Top that off with a high/low 4-beam on relay kit.

For parking lights, replace fixture with a one piece l.e.d. unit.

For tails replace fixture with a one piece red body led with the clear area for back-up lights powered by Sylvania Silverstar's or 360degree l.e.d. bulb equivalents. Corner markers should be 360 degree 194 type l.e.d bulbs. You may want hids or a back-up camera(or both) for the reverse system if your window tint is pretty dark.

And one electronic flasher module to top it off.:imo:

Practical, very effective, more efficient, not ugly looking, not blinding or pissing off other drivers and totally kick-ass.

Since you are asking.
