Been having what sounds like a screw rolling around and could not narrow it down. Finally discovered it’s in here. Does anyone know how this is removed? Does it just pull down? Don’t see any fasteners.

open the storage tray and there should see 2 screws, once you have the screws out the center portion is then only attached with clips and you can just pull it down to get access. while you are in there you can unplug that center led that never goes out at night.

in that case just grab right here and try pulling it straight down, firm but not hard enough to break anything the clips should just pop off I don't have my truck at the moment to check myself

Looks like just two clips at the back. And I actually like the ambient light in there as well as in the door handle cutouts.

Finally got a chance to get it done today. The screws that backed out are the ones for the rear clips as circled. I used thread lock this time so hopefully they won’t back out.

Where are those two screws accessed from? I thought you said you didn't see any screws in the storage tray.

It’s all clips to pull down. The screws are on a bracket inside the unit that attach to those clips. The bracket needs to be removed, the clips screwed in and then bracket installed. The blacks screws in pic 2 are the ones that fell out
