Ok, I've watched every stinkin video I can find, and read article after article that all say the same couple of techniques. But I can not get my homelink to sync up to my garage door opener.
WHAT is the trick to this stinkin thing?

Method 1). Key on...Hold both outside buttons until it blinks fast. Erases previous and puts in learn mode. Push learn button on door opener, and then come back to car...pushing the desired button....lights should flash. Push again to activate. FAILED
Method 2). Key on...Hold both outside buttons until it blinks fast. Erases previous and puts in learn mode. On remote, push the button that works the door and hold about 3" away from homelink. Push and hold desired button. Should flash slow, then fast once learned. Release, and then activate the button again. FAILED. **alternate states to hold remote up to 13" away...tried multiple versions ranging 3" -13" away. Also failed.**
Method 3). Had something to do with rolling codes, but requires at least method 1 to mostly be successful first, but requires additional steps. FAILED

So ok, what is the REAL trick on the 2003?! Geez!!
Thanks!

After I failed a hundred times, I yelled for the kids and told them to do it. Ten minutes later it was done. Then I asked them to set up the other cars too!

FWIW, have you looked in the owner's manual? Here's how it works for my 2004; I would think yours is the same. Be sure you're doing EXACTLY as it says in your book:
