My 2000 Yukon horn sounds when the weather is below 35 to 40 degrees the first few times the steering wheel is turned. I'm not sure how to remove the airbag without killing myself. Has anyone seen this problem before and what is the solution?

Yukon has 192,000 miles still going strong!

First of all, let me get this out the way: LOL

Have you checked your battery? Some horns sound as an alert to the driver that the battery is low or not cranking out enough amps or whatever. Since it's cold-related, I'm guessing battery and/or alternator issue.

Does it have any difficulty actually cranking over when you first start it?

If it's cold out, the heat probably comes on, maybe the lights depending on time of day, plus all the other stuff in these vehicles....maybe the power-steering is maxing out what juice your battery has, which has already been diminished by the cold temps....
