I figured the reason manufacturers use them is because they install easily and quickly with the right tool.

Spring, definitely. When connection is heated and cooled the expansion of the pipe compresses the rubber and on cooling the clamp is the same but the rubber does not come back to the same thickness it was before the heating cycle , you have to tighten clamp periodically to stop leaks. Spring clamps follow the expansion and contraction, no leaks. Get with it , out of the 40 s and buy the proper pliers, now connections are easy to take apart and put together.

I like T-bolt clamps...... I have a pair of pliers that have a cable and clamp on the end. makes the spring style super easy to deal with!

Either is fine but one thing I hate is CHEAP worm clamps. Those things are total crap. Spend the money on nice ones.
