I've just recently been looking at Tahoes. I have been wanting an avalanche for about 3 years now but today i saw the most badass tahoe it instantly changed my veiws. I was parked outside a boat shed and a 2007-new white tahoe pulled up sittin on 18" rockstar XD's and 295/70 18 trail grapplers. I didnt get a chance to talk to the man because i was in a hurry but if i was to get a tahoe i was wondering what kind of expenses i would be looking at to fit those. I mean just pricing the rims and tires is already like 2.5K but......I know with avalanches you can fit up to near 34's if you trim and get the proper backspacing and level it out and all that shit. I'm guessing the same applys to tahoes but im not sure.

You can get a leveling kit for the front 2" and a rear 1" spacer that should not be a problem fitting those tires. I will say however that the Rockstar wheels are pretty well played out. But to each his own. Good luck in your search Thomas

I support eveything Conor said above, esp. the part on Rockstars being played out!
Rockstars to lifted trucks are like high heels to Prostitutes, toooooo common.

yeahhhhhh i know. But i swear to god those things looked awesome with that contrast of the white Tahoe. I see my fair share of rockstars in south carolina but not enough to get tired of them. I mean i wouldnt have any problem with getting different rims and all that but im just saying that if i could have a look THAT is the one I would want no doubt. Thanks for the info though that helps out a lot. I was looking around thinking you would need a 4" or something but this system would fit the budget a lot better. Which would be the best/cheapest way to get the 2" front with the 1" back?

oh yeah. That high heels to prostitutes was a good analogy. lmao

2" in the front can be got pretty easy. The Belltech from lift struts can do it, but if not, I say just get a spacer up front. Or you can rock the Rancho ReadyLift kit and get almost 2":http://www.readylift.com/c-45-chevy-avalanche-1500-2007-2010-2wd-4wd-6-lug-adj-10-15.aspx.

I would run an Eaby 1" spacer out back too, Belltech and many other companies make some that some type of plastic, maybe polyurethrane.

I dont know much about tahoes but avalanches you can just turn up the torsion bars and get about 2". Can you do the same with tahoes? I mean im lookin to save some cash and stuff (but yet im lookin at rockstars and trail grapplers.....) but if i could just crank the T bars and save $250 im all for it. Id probably still need that spacer in the back though wouldnt I?

The new model (07-Up) Tahoe, Avalanche's and Suburbans do not have torsion bar front suspension. Instead they have strut/coliover front suspension.
Makes for a better ride thats why.
The only way to get a lift up front on the newer models w/o spending alot is to use a lift strut/coilover (like Bilstein leveling strut, the Bellteh one, or ReadyLift), or to use spacers.

ive been looking around and ive found a good front spacer. It's a 2" front strut spacer from pro comp on 4wheelparts.com and it goes for about $122 but i cant find any back blocks. Ive gone to all the major parts websites and none of them will fit tahoes. What do most people on here use for back lifts?

The rear uses a coil suspensioon, so you would be looking for coil spring spacer, not a block. Blocks woulf be on Silvys or Sierras with a rear leaf suspension.
Spacers for the rear are also at 4WP, or Ebay.
