How can you tell a 2015 Chevy Tahoe has the max trailering package?

Just wanted to start off by saying that I have been a long admirer of Tahoes and Yukons. I'm actually looking to buy a 2015 Chevy Tahoe for my father. Towing is important so the max trailering package is a crucial option. I was looking through used Tahoes, and I noticed that some vehicles have the trailer brake controller inside but the dealer doesn't list the max trailering package. My understanding was that if it has the trailer brake controller, then the vehicle should be equipped with the max trailering package with the 3.42 rear axle ratio. Thank you all very much in advance for your assistance with this. I apologize if this subject has been posted before as I couldn't find anything.

Look for the brake controller as well as the Rear Air Ride Shocks and compressor. The shocks are easy to spot by looking thru the rear wheel well inner shroud...they are obviously larger with air lines connected. When I bought my 2016 Yukon, the Max Trailer package was a must have...at $450 it is a steal of an option.

I believe you will also seek the trailer brake controller on the left side of the steering wheel near the light switch knob and 4x4 knob area.

Edit: just re-read your post. Not sure if the brake controller is available as an option without the max trailering package.

Look for the 3.45 rear axle code as well.

Its on the window sticker if you're buying new. If used, just run the VIN number for equipped options.
