I am in the process of painting the dash and the lower parts. I need to paint the airbag cover on the passenger side but don't want to paint it in the Tahoe. Obviously I am a little cautious about messing with the airbag. Can you guys give me some advice on how to get it out?? What does it involve and what are the steps?? If anyone has pics, that would be even better. I am at a standstill until I get some guidance on this one.......

Thanks!

First of all, get in your truck and put it in drive and head for the nearest wall or car and ram into it.

Your truck should look like this-

Lol, just kidding man, I couldn't resist.

haha i was gonna say the same thing...but i didnt think about putting a photo to it haha good one.

as long as the battery is disconnected and you wait a few minutes, however it comes apart to unbolt the airbag module (cover, airbag and all) it should come out without too much difficulty. usualy bright yellow plugs are what you need to unplug to pull it out. i dont have ours here to go out and look but shouldnt be too hard.

Can I pull the fuse for the airbag instead of disconnecting the battery?? Not that it matters, just means I don't have to reprogram the stero again.
