top speed is 137 so if you have bigger tires or wheels on it than what it was originally built with then that would explain why the speedo will say 140, mine was built with 18" wheels and I have 20" on it so the speedo is off 2-3 mph also.I can honestly say my speedometer says 140 and it will do that. has to have a different gear ratio to get up to that speed, tires really don't have that much to do with it other than they might explode and cause a catastrophic accident if they are not rated for high speed.The 2 versions chevy has of the new tahoe and suburban platforms are a 810 hp and a 1000 hp option. They say the tire that come on the limit the speed to 155. But they say it you put on another set of shoes it would top out at 180. After that the friction just gets to be to much.
Not if you tune it.What's up with these speeds. Mine is factory limited.
