How fast have you had your tahoe

Many speed limits are determined on road condition / environment.

Many mid-west back woods highways were built during the '30's. Cars are faster now.

Ok so the question was how fast have you had your tahoe. It wasn't how are your road conditions, how was the weather that day. It wasn't when was the last time you had offensive or defensive driving school or when was the Last time you were at the drag strip. It was just, how fast have you had your hoe. I dont care about the statistics of high speed accidents or the weather reports at the time of said run.

This made me think of something I was pondering the other day about the 6 speed in my 2010. I swear it's already in 3rd gear at 15mph.

Under light throttle, they're tuned to get into higher gears quicker, so yeah, you're probably in 3rd by 15 MPH.

That also shows your transmission is operating well.

My old '88 Sierra shifted into 2nd, half way into an intersection from a green light.

I've only been to about 75 in our truck. My wife, OTOH, I'm sure has seen 3-digits.

Ah, yes.... Texas.... If you don't speed across that expanse, .. You'll need a second haircut before you get to the state line.

Some are, others, many think they are. We live in the Houston Metro area, and most speed limits around it are set at 60-65. We only saw 75 on the way to Arlington to pick up a trailer. But yeah, with the cruise set at 75, I was still getting passed.
