well thought i had made up my mind with going with black 24's and all that i had left to decide was tire size and brand..... but yesterday i had somebody tell me my mpg was going to drastically change for the worse......i currently have stock 17's on it now. 2013 yukon xl (blacked out)......anybody experience this or have some insight on what i can expect?

I would say about 4-5 mpg. Depends on how much heavier the wheels are as not all 24s weigh the same. Performance will suffer too.

Also expect extra strain on all front end suspension components over time.

I went from almost 19 to a little over 15 on 28s based on the read out on the dash but as you may know thats not the most accurate thing in the world.. My driving is 90% highway btw

I Also would like to stress the extra strain on all front end suspension components over time!

When I went from 20's to 24's I lost about 1-2mpg with mostly city driving. I'm guessing about 2-3mpg difference going from 17 to 24 though. Also depends on your driving and how heavy your foot is on the gas pedal and how much highway/city driving you do.

exactly 2.45533mpg

this is a dumb question. its going to go down. a little or a lot depending on quite a few things. mainly your right foot will determine that.

This one of the reasons I have thought about going back to 17s or forged 18s from a hybrid.
Out on the hwy if I baby it and keep it below 68 mph, don't use cruise and don't accelerate uphill I have seen 21.0, if I drive normally on the hwy 16.6 or even less.
Around town I can really feel the acceleration dulled and the brake pedal being less responsive.
