How to get tahoe radio bezel off?

I am thinking about getting a lockpick gen 6 but am very apprehensive about taking the radio bezel off without scratching it or breaking it. Its on a 08 tahoe with the woodgrain. Does anyone have any tips or tools that are good for this?

I just use a small flathead screwdriver and gently pry it enough on the top left until I get my finger in there and pull. From there it's pretty easy.

I just tried that and there is no way to do that without scratching it. I can get a credit card to slide in at the top left but it just bends and isnt strong enough to get it to pull out enough to get behind it.

Try two small flathead screwdrivers simultaneously. It’s very easy.

It is my understanding that then you have to take the 4 bolts down each side to get radio out. I read somewhere that there may be some sort of spring or something else holding the radio in, is this true or will it just slide out after the bolts are out? It is the nav radio by the way.

I used the suction cup off my old window mount gps to pull it off. Worked great.

I took it to a local body shop and they used some sort of plastic window tool and got it off with no problems. I am just concerned now about being able to get the radio out. My lockpick will be here this afternoon and I want to install it.

The radio is easy. You will need to unbolt the AC controls and the pedal/stabilitrak/etc button panels. Those each have 2 bolts, so all you need to do is remove a total of 6 bolts and the radio comes right out. I don't know where you read about a spring, but that's not true.

It is a very easy process, the worst part is getting the bezel off. I guess I had better luck because I got it off with 1 small flathead screwdriver and didn't scratch it.

I read it in the installation manuel for the lockpick, but now I think they were talking about the spring loaded friction locks on the trim not the actual radio. sorry.
