If you have good Fab-ing skills then try it, otherwise, leave as is! The K5 and the Bronco of similar years had a removable top, but it was by-design. Not sure why they didn't do it for the later OBS Tahoe/Yukon, anywho.

I think this is a cool look for a slightly lifted Beach vehicle...but for a DD, not so much. I long for a K5 for this purpose. We have a home in one of those quintessential beach towns in South Jersey, the K5 would be prefect for a fun weekend vehicle.

I bought a mechanically perfect 4wd 4door 98 tahoe for $400. The roof is rotted off front and back from being parked near the beach. The frame is fine. You can literally see daylight through the rust holes. I am going to cut the top off and use it for towing my catamaran on the beach. Id love to see some more pictures before i fire up the plasma cutter...
