I bought my 04 Yukon XL used last summer. I moved to Ontario from Florida and needed a "winter vehicle". Foolishly the Bose UC6 radio was removed and replaced with a Kenwood deck. I inspected the console and found the amp and subwoofer, harness, connectors were all present and intact. I bought a GM single cd used Bose radio from an 03 Sierra SLT. I took it to the dealer and had it unlocked but they could not get any sound from it. Foolishly I realized I had not plugged in the amp, but alas no sound except a buzz from the r/r door speaker whether the radio is on or not. From some research, it appears my new radio may not match my amp being a single cd vs a 6 stack. Secondly, does the amp need to be programmed with the radio? maybe my amp is no good, the reason the radio was removed in the first place. The previous owner said "the radio quit working so I swapped it". Being a former GM tech, I changed a lot of these 6 stack radios because the cd's would jamb up in them.
No longer being a GM tech, I cant access any info and I now have a few hundred into radio and repair with no sound. The radio obviously works because I can use earbuds and the RSA system to listen to music as I drive although this appears a little dangerous. I love to listen to music as I drive and I have to commute 3 hours a day, so I could use some guidance. I have checked the simple stuff, fuses, connections, etc.
Input would be welcome.
Thanks TYF
