I bought my 04 Yukon XL used last summer. I moved to Ontario from Florida and needed a "winter vehicle". Foolishly the Bose UC6 radio was removed and replaced with a Kenwood deck. I inspected the console and found the amp and subwoofer, harness, connectors were all present and intact. I bought a GM single cd used Bose radio from an 03 Sierra SLT. I took it to the dealer and had it unlocked but they could not get any sound from it. Foolishly I realized I had not plugged in the amp, but alas no sound except a buzz from the r/r door speaker whether the radio is on or not. From some research, it appears my new radio may not match my amp being a single cd vs a 6 stack. Secondly, does the amp need to be programmed with the radio? maybe my amp is no good, the reason the radio was removed in the first place. The previous owner said "the radio quit working so I swapped it". Being a former GM tech, I changed a lot of these 6 stack radios because the cd's would jamb up in them.
No longer being a GM tech, I cant access any info and I now have a few hundred into radio and repair with no sound. The radio obviously works because I can use earbuds and the RSA system to listen to music as I drive although this appears a little dangerous. I love to listen to music as I drive and I have to commute 3 hours a day, so I could use some guidance. I have checked the simple stuff, fuses, connections, etc.
Input would be welcome.
Thanks TYF

I would do a ohm test on that sub and get a amp for that sub replace all the Bose speakers
With my 99 escalade console that has a sub in it the sub is 1.4 ohms so I got a 1 ohm stable
Class d amp 350 RMS@1 your sub may be a dual voice coil sub.

I think you may have hit on the problem, I will look at the SPID label and follow up with this info. The radio is the unknown variable other than it came from an '03 Sierra and it is a single cd Bose, not a UC6 6cd Bose as originally equipped in my vehicle. Good link, thanks

Thank you for the impedance info on the sub and prospective replacement amp info, but new amp and Bose speakers or any replacement speakers are not in the future for this old dog. Next month I can pull my BMW out of hibernation and drive it for the rest of the year. I was looking for info on what components match what is in the truck vs what I need usually found in the service and/or parts information from the dealer.
Thanks again
