Alright, my first real thread :)

So the wiring harness loom was missing in a lot of places in my 2006 suburban 2500 LQ4 2wd. I bought the truck like this and the PO was kinda a car guy, pretty clean so I don't know what happened. I guess age is also part of it. Anyways, I'd been putting it off until last weekend.

It's kinda tedious, but if you have a few days just bored, it's very doable and will probably cost you about $100 in various loom electrical tape, heat tape, etc. You can inspect the wires and repair/replace damaged wire or connectors. I think the grounds at the rear of your engine is probably the hardest part.

Clean/wash your engine while you are there.

A few more pics.

I had bought a connector pigtail for the transmission speed sensor. The electrical insulation was missing and it touched and I got a code last year when the transmission was removed to replace a leaking rear main seal. Unfortunately I couldn't find the replacement in my garage, so I added some electrical liquid tape. Same situation for my cam position sensor. Hopefully this works.

I started the truck and everything seems good.

Most loom is 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1" which is found at most auto parts stores.

The big trunk seemed to be 1 1/4 and that's what I ordered from Amazon, but mine was a bit undersized, so I ordered 1 1/2 from Napa and that seemed too big.

The heat tape is aluminum from the home center.

Just did this myself. Used two bags of Taylor Convoluted Tubing Assortment 38000 and one American Terminal - Convoluted Tubing - Wire Loom - 1.5" x 10'. To secure the ends
Red Wolf - Wiring Harness Tape (3/4" x 50 FT) GJ0002-0008 was used. Have enough left over to do the other truck.

Sure looks nice all done eh?
