how to remove hitch/ side steps off my tahoe z71

I would like to remove my side steps and hitch to get them powdercoated and look all fresh. Is removing these easy to do or do i need an air tools?
Also the plastic steps on them, do they just pop off with out breaking?

super easy to do. You will need to remove all of the nuts and clips you can see from under the side. Next pull out the large brackets that are holding the sheet metal backing on, then you'll have to drill out the rivits. When you re-install just use 1/4" sheet metal screws. They should of done this in the first place.

Just like Ted said, its super easy and the hitch is even easier. That is only 6 bolts and you are good to go.
