Looking to have my 6.2, 6sp tuned at a local shop. They have a January special for $250. Any of you guys had your truck tuned with HPtuners? He said it will improve shifting and wake it up...

For clarification, HPTuners is the tuning software/device itself, not the tune or the tuner. The tuner I used was BlackBear Performance who I believe used EFIlive software/device. Tuning is all about the person. Are there any local LS based car forums your on? I would do a bit of research about your tuner first, but having a local tuner should always be your first choice.

Correct...I have done all that research. Was hoping to find someone on here with my drive train to ask some specifics.

They offered that at a local shop here I went another route this is why
The price I was quoted was 185 for the license and $100 for the tune. I would always own the tune but any adjustment needed later $100
I ended up getting a hypertech max energy for like $300 I am very happy with it so far
I can adjust stuff later if needed

My tuner used the HPTuner tool and my 6.2L runs like a dream. I highly recommend.

Had my truck tuned Friday and what a difference. I ran an Edge Evolution in my last truck, this is hands down way better than the Edge ever thougt about being. Drives better, more power, shifts are firm and fast. Will definitely be tuning every truck I own from here on out.
