Not trying to take the place of Bowtie, but wanted to hopefully answer the cliff-hanger question...

Yes, you can re-use the FI setup on the HT383E (just switch the top-end over to the 383)...and your factory computer will allow it to run. However, you'll need a custom tune to get the most out of it. If you choose to stay with the factory spider, max power will be limited by the fueling capabilities of the spider/injectors - which is why many opt for the carb, ram jet, or marine intake setups (you can upgrade the injectors since they are external).

okay thanks tiger! i was thinking you can just use all the fuel injection stuff.

Another question for you guys. the updated spider version has 23 lb/hr injectors.isnt that enough? i read somewhere that our old crap spider has 16 lb/hr. so would 23 be good for the 383?

I guess I missed this thread earlier.

The HT383E is a direct replacement, as stated above just put the FI on the motor and your good. As for the stock fuel system, it is enough. Mine is close to maxed out but it is not yet. I highly recomend if possible a dyno tune so your tuner can see what is going on. The tune is not needed howver but I picked up a ton of power with a tune. To be exact:

Before a custom tune, I had a hyper tech programmer so the before is with a hand held program:

Before:226.6HP 297.3ft lbs at the tires
After: 261.7HP 378.3ft lbs at the tires

Well worth the tune, the numbers don't lie. Factor in a roughly 24% drivetrain loss and you get a motor with about 350HP, close to 500ft lbs of torque. Again, not bad for a reliable motor.

I hope this helps

To get the FULL potential of the supercharger, you'd need to upgrade your fueling system to keep up with the demands from the supercharger. Several have done the marine intake or the ram jet in order to get larger external injectors and better flow.

The stock injectors (even the upgraded spider) and intake will be the limiting factors in a forced induction configuration.
