Humming noise when phone is charging and plugged into the aux

plugged into what exactly? have you been able to replicate the problem with a different phone and different charger?

The phone has a USB charger plugged in and an aux cord going to the head unit. Have tried different chargers and cables. No change. Is there a faulty ground strap that would cause this. The under the hood ones seem to be good.

I have an aux port wired up to the factory radio in my 2005 suburban using the XM receiver hack. The Bluetooth adapter I plug into it has a ground loop isolator built into it. Maybe that’s what you need? Something like this:

Yes it does it with other phones. If I plug into a portable charger and not the cigarette lighter port it goes away.

The noise is gone when not charging. Or at least quiet enough that I don't notice it

Is the deck a factory head unit or aftermarket? sounds like you might need that isolator linked above or if it is a aftermarket head unit check your grounds on it maybe relocate the ground to a different place

It is aftermarket and I relocated the ground a while back, long before the problem started. I'll check out the isolater, thanks!

That is usually do to a week ground somewhere. if you are only getting engine noise when phone is plugged into charge try getting a better charger. Usually cheap cable will pick up engine noise.
