You may not be "hurting" your engine but you should have a thermostat in it.
Your engine was designed to run at a specific operating temperature. (193-198)
Your mileage will be much better as your computer makes adjustments based on readings it gets from the engine. If your engine runs cool the computer will richen up the mixture to try to get it up to the correct operating temp.

Am I wrong here guys?

unknown at this time.
Put a new one back in. Not only would you get more heat for defrosting but your engine will not run in open loop all the time dumping more gas than needed. Why take it out in the first place? engine works better and cleaner at 190-200 range. It would also eventually where out your converters. Would not pass a smog test probably as well.

Stick a piece of card boad in front of the radiator on the driver side untill you get one and have time to put it in. block off about 1/3 of the radiator. This will help the temp stay up. Had a work truck that had a bad thermo 7 winters ago and did this for a month untill I could have it down for a day. Just don't run the piss out of it. It will hurt the plugs a bit and run a bit rich with out it. Have to be carfull not to do it too long so not to clog a cat up.

As cheap are tstats are just get a new one and stick it in there. You're motor will run much better with one and they are cheap and easy to put in!

No gasket on the 95, it uses the old o ring.

There are a few threads on the internet saying if you run it as cool as you are you are damaging the engine. Not only is it in closed loop mode all the time like was already said but the oil never heats up enough to remove water and condensation from it.
