Hey guys. Please before you guys go all Black bear on me, i got a hypertech max energy for a Bday present not long ago. can anyone give me Some advice a good basic setup for Shift, firmness & revlimit? I dont plan on using Premium settings. Just looking to get better response, better gas even if it may be 1 mpg and calibrate for 20s. Thanks. Oh before i forget its a 08 tahoe Lt with a 4speed 5.3

me, I'd go for the max performance. Now I once had the Hypertech, but most of us may not be familiar with the adjustable settings. What are the options as far as firmness, shift points, etc?

I played with it, It allows you to set speed so you can match tire speed, set mine to 130mph even though ill never go that fast. I turned on shift firmness, only one setting. I raised rev limiter to 6k, shift point 1-2 +300 rpm, 2-3 +300 rpm and 3-4 +200 rpm. left tire size alone. Set for regular tune. romped on it a little in town and it does shift at 6k at wot. Feels better between shifts, but i believe shift points only affects when wot. Regular cruise seems the same.

That sounds like almost the exact setup that I use with my Hypertech. The shift firmness and raising the shift points help out performance significantly. The difference in tunes over stock is negligible. I used mine to reset the speedo when I went with 33s and it seems to be pretty accurate. I've done some casual testing going down the highway and it's close enough for me to be comfortable with it.

just so you guys know, i got rid of this garbage. No matter the settings. It killed my gas mileage. In town before was 15mpg, highway 18, 376 total . with it installed 10.9 highway was 14 got 260 miles on full tank. I called Tech support, was told to update, did that set tune for regular fuel, calibrated for 31' tire height, left shift points alone. Hardly any change. Called again and they said Max energy is really meant for more power. Ok if so, why advertise for 1-6 mpg increase? If anyone is thinking of a handheld tuner, I DONT recommend hypertech
