I am thinking about buying a used amp, sub and box. Wondering if it's a good deal.

The speaker is a 12 inch rockford fosgate power t1, installed in a box built to what the sellers claims to be rockford specs. The amp is a rockford mono p6001bd, 300 watts 4 ohms, 600 wats 2ohms. He is asking $300 for eveything. Is this a good deal? He says eveything is hooked up in his car so i could hear how it sounds with his set up. I dont know much about stereo equipment so hopefully some of you guys can help me out. Thanks!

Well the fact that he is going to let you hear it before you buy it makes me believe for one he's not a scammer so thats a good start , as for the price I don't know anything about Systems so yes good deal haha

$300 is a lot cheaper than what you would give for the exact setup new. I say do it. haggle a little just to save yourself some money but $300 for what he has is a good deal. I used to sell Rockford and those power series woofers and amps are not at all cheap. Retail is about $1 per watt on the amp alone, we built single boxes for about $150-$200, and if I remember correctly the T1 12 was about $300 alone.

Meh its kind of a deal, because a new T1 is gonna run you about $240, then the amp will run you about $200 (old discontinued). And a box will cost depending on if you make it or buy it. But me personally I would not buy that setup, specifically because of the amp, that sub can handle way more and I tend to wanna at least power my subs to the rms rating in which that sub has an rms of 800 and that amp rms @ 2 ohms is 600 watts. Offer him $200 for everything, like I said the only real thing of value that he is offering is the sub.

I believe the sub is rated at 600 max RMS at 2 ohms. The guy doesnt want to budge, and says he wont sell for less than $300. I think I'll check it out later today. Would be interesting to hear the sound. He has it installed in an accord so putting the system in my truck should sound a hella of a lot better.

Keep in mind that Rockford Fosgate is one of few companies that UNDER-rate their amps. In other words 600watts RMS = approx. 800-850 watts true rms output at 2 ohms. The sub is 800watts RMS so its a perfect amp for the sub.

The Power 500.1bd in my Burb had an initial test sheet said it made 724watts RMS at 1 ohm. It runs the 2 Diamond D3 10's (400watts RMS each) perfectly

Make him cover that box if he wants $300, otherwise I would be happy to pay 200-250 for it.
