I own a Tahoe 99

My AC runs even when the AC button is not activated. The AC relay in the engine compartment is ok. But there is always current across the relay coil even though AC button is not pushed and not the indication lights showing on the button. The button works since I saw the indication light turn on.

The compressor clutch looks like it's working because it switch off and on.

Thanks in beforehand!

The A/C will come on even if the switch is off if you have the fan position selector in "defrost" mode. Make sure you do any testing with the switch to the left of the foot position, anything to the right turns on the A/C.

unknown at this time.
As riley said make sure you are not in defrost. However just in case you are not there is one thing you should try. pull the #12 htr-a/c fuse from the i/p fuse block. if your compressor continues to run then your powertrain control module is defectice and will require replacement. at which point you will need access gm scanner to finish the job.

Thank you for the quick answer!

The answer was the defroster mode. The Swedish manual was not so clear about it.
