I recently got a 2004 yukon xl, I am hearing an intermitent ticking coming from the vicinity of thecluster. Searches mostly point to an A/C issue but I hear the tick with the A/C off, any ideas?

Next is I can hear what is best described as a motor running sound from the headliner area above themiddlerowseaton thedriversside?

Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks, Chris

Don't know about the ticking, but the motor sound you hear from the headliner is most likely coming from the little round fixture (one above driver side seat and one above 2nd row seats) in the headliner. Those are little fans that are associated with bringing in cabin air to sensors for feedback to the climate control system. They can be (carefully) removed and cleaned and shouldn't be noisy after.

Thanks

Thanks for your help, I am going to clean the fans soon. Also it seems the ticking is related to the traction control, but I am still working that out.
