I bought my 96 4dr 4x4 about 4 years ago and none of the power locks or rear glass popper worked. I immediately put a 6" lift with 35's rebuilt the front suspension replaced alot of the 4wd sensors and actuator (different issue) and about 1 yr into ownership all the locks and popper started working, just happened to bump the switch and it worked. Sweet, right? Fast forward a couple years of all locks working flawlessly and boom, with no explanation they all stopped working again. Now after a year of manually locking it up I would like to fix this problem. Does anyone know where to start with my problem?
Next issue, I need to swap my front capitan seats for some sort of a bench with 3 seatbelts. Will any 88-98 truck or 92-99 front seat work? Naturally I assume yes, but do any new seats bolt up with very minimal modification or am I limited to same body style seats? I really wish I would've started with a Suburban as 4 days a month our family consists of 6 people, 5 normally. But with new front suspension, lift kit, new performance built transmission, rebuilt transfer case, every 4x4 part (mechanical and electronic) from the 4x4 dash button to the front diff replaced tracing down why it wouldn't engage turned out to be front diff actuator, most everything but the motor is new and it would take alot of work to swap everything out.
