ok, i think i replied to someones post thinking that i was making a new post, so if thats the case i am sorry, but in short: i have a 2003 yukon, and i had all factory music features taken out and unfortunately went the wrong route in getting the new stuff installed, i am getting screaching and whinning coming from my speakers, when a new song comes on there is a loud thump coming from my subs, i think a few of my interiors are blown as well, But, when i turn the ignition off, the loud thump goes away and the screeching is alot lower, my lights flicker with each bump of bass once i turn volume past 15. i am in the process of replacing the speakers, but i cannot find what size i need for the 2 front tweeters that run along the both of the "A" post or front driver and passenger side, or the speaker all the way in the back, its like in the area of where my third row was at. Please help

take it back to whatever cutrate shop installed it and demand they either fix it, or remove it reinstall the oem components and refund the entire amount.

This sounds like a bad wiring job.. a ground issue could cause both of these issues.. and a cap could fix the dimming lights.. but most the time a big bad ass wiring kit.. will handle a few 12s and an amp or two for highs.. without too much of an issue..

The rear speakers are 3.5s .. im not sure about the front tweets.. but any tweet set form a set of components can be massaged in there.. or you can take my absolute LEAST favorite route in the world that it seems like EVERYONE does. .and totally RUIN the imaging.. and disconnect those tweeters and put your component tweets in the door with the 6.5s

if you dont take it back to the shop and raise hell

redo all interior speakers and speaker wiring

have a professional (either a best buy installer or something else) install your subs and amplifier

what shit shop did you go to?

Pop your installer right in the face!

Could be the Amp's remote turn-on wire connected to the Accessory power. If someone else did the install, they must have heard it! If you did the install, then have a pro look at it. Look at the wiring, is it messy? If so, then pay someone to do it right. There's nothing worse than paying good money to have qulaity sound, and getting noise instead.

You might be getting some feedback 'engine noise'. something that an installer should INSTALL. Also, like mob said, a cap will help the dimming issues. My 3 kicker L7 12's in my old nbs tahoe had that issue but I put a 1 Farad cap and voila-- more alternating power and no more dimming lights and the bass hits!
