I have a 97 hoe with 6" fab tech kit on 35's and the rear is bagged. right now I have about 1" before I'm hitting the droops but If I crank the keys all the way and add a 3" BL would it be possible to fit 39" or 40" tires... or am I way off?

im gonna say probably not 40s but 38s is deffinately possible... mine has a a 6in. rough country and 35s and sits a lil high in the front with them half cranked... if i cranked them up any more my upper A-arms hit my shocks and it would ride like shit but it would be way cool if there was a way to mount your shocks somewhere else... and im sure there is i just havent looked!

40s can be done if you are ok with trimming and running stock wheel offset and width. Not really a good idea on a 1/2 ton truck though

ok it's pretty much the front that's limiting me then. I know I could get a 40 on the back with a BL and can get another 3" in the back with the bags tho the ride sucks big time once I blow them up but it doesn't matter much if the front won't be able to fit. still 38's would still be cool if I can do it.

how much lift do you have to have to run 40"+ tires?

I'm new to the whole tahoe world. I've been playing with f bodies for some time now. on my last car I did pretty much everything I could ever want to do to it and realized I'm bored now so I traded for this tahoe. I'm lovin it so far but I want it bigger lol

People fit 40s with the 6+3 combo, you need to run a narrow tire on a narrow wheel with close to stock back spacing. A guy on FSC named Kirk rans 40s on a NBS pick up with teh 6+3 combo.

Fabtech isnt a full drop kit so right off the bat your being held back lol. But anything is possible. I would go a wide 38", 40s are possible but it would be more of a dog.

Scrap all the lift you have, find an old 1 ton pick-up with straight axles and do an axle conversion up front. If you seriously want to run 40's that the right way to do it. 40's on IFS would suck and all the lifts and cranking would look redneck as shit...
