if you got HIDs i need your advice

im a first time hid buyer ok so ive been shopping around at HIDs and all an i have a few ?s
1. who is the best seller?
2. whats the differences in how much kelvins they use i heard the higher the harder they are on your eyes?
3. how long do they last?
4.whats the best ones IYO
5.can i use them in my after market lights?

1. Best seller is subjective. I got a $40 set off ebay and love them.
2. k(kelvin) is the color temperature. 3000k-yellow, good for rain, snow. 4300k-5000k- closest to high noon sunlight, bright white. 6000k- white with a hint of blue. 8000k- more blue. 10,000k even more blue, and so on. 4300k-5000k is going to give you the most usable light and brightness. Beware 6000k from brand 'a' may not be the same color as 6000k from brand 'b'.
3. Typically last 2+ years depending on quality. Although some claim to last many times longer than halogens.
4. I like mine. They were cheap with a 2 year warranty and still work fine after 9 months. Xentec from ebay.
5. Usually you can use them in aftermarket lights. Sometimes fitment may be an issue because the bulbs are longer. Some aftermarket housings are not meant to use with hids causing bad light output.

Hid's by theneselves are illegal unless on oem applications so you have to retrofit the headlights or buy projector ones
