Went to start my yukon. It turned over but starter kept cranking. Disconnected battery, starter quit. Tried to start but ign A fuse blew. Crossed solenoid, starter cranked and kept cranking. D-C'd battery again. Bad solenoid?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shawn

so it only blows when engaging the starter? if so remove the crank fuse and starter relay separately to see if it blows again? if it still does the the problem can be in the ignition switch. if not remove the solenoid trigger wire and see if it blows. if not then the solenoid maybe faulty.

Took starter out and had it tested. Its fine. Reinstalled and connected battery. It began cranking without key in the ignition or ign A fuse in place. I'm thinking ignition cylinder.

if it cranks with no key in it and the ignition a fuse removed or the starter then starter solenoid is likely jammed closed and stuck on. pulling the relay isolates the fuse and ignition switch out of the equation.

Had this same exact problem, check the neutral safety switch by unplugging both plugs and reinstalling the ign fuse. If it doesn't try cranking by itself or blow the fuse, then replace the neutral safety switch.
