I'm a little confused with the Engine in my 2015 Tahoe ?

I had a chance to remove the plastic lit over my engine, and despite it being named a L-83, it looks just like the engine that was in my 2003 Corvette, which was a LS1 engine. Aren't these late model Chevrolet trucks equipped with the LSX engines and if so why give them another name, designation ?

LT-X engines are the successor to the LS-x series engines, same ohv single cam pushrod design, vvt functions very similar to later year ls engines... incorporates direct injection and different port orientation

That is the old style TBI. When you had your top cover off, did you see any fuel rail or injectors going into the heads? There were two types. Fuel injection and the throttel body injection Do a google search and you will see if this is what you have

I promise you, you dont have tbi. The LT (L83 and L86) engines are direct Injection everything is under the intake manifold

its all good man, as good as they were.... i dont think gm is bring back the tbi

first truck i tinkered with was a 92 silverado, well technically it was my pops mid 60s f100. chevy was the first truck of mine that i ruined
