Enough with the rhyming.

Both catalytic converters went out on the 05 denali, so in contrary to the advice I received here I ordered what seemed to be a Magnaflow "Y" pipe for the Denali (link) It got here, and it won't fit because it has a manifold that conjoins the two tubes together before it gets to the muffler. Back it goes (thankfully Amazon is awesome)...

Anyway, I'm lost about what to do. I'm thinking I either order some Magnaflow weld-in cats and take them to an exhaust shop, or I go to an exhaust shop and see what they have?

Any advice? If it weren't too expensive, I would be opposed to any exhaust upgrades while they're down there. I don't want excessively loud, and I do like the modern, sophisticated, and refined sound of the stock Denali exhaust.

If I do order the CC's online, which should I get? I also wouldn't mind getting them from Blackbear if the price difference wasn't too bad.

Cut the collector off the Y pipe and run duals, any quality muffler shop should be able to get it done.

Is there inspections in GA? If its not too strict, cut the cats off and free up some HP and better mpg too probably. As for rear O2s. You can get Sims, so it doesn't set off the CEL.

Unfortunately, we have annual inspections and they use a mirror to check under the car for cats. It's really dumb, but I'll spare my anti-state rants. :happy107:

Pull the cats off, gut them, re-install them, then snicker as they use that mirror.

What he said ^^

As for the rear O2s. Get 4 spark plug non toilets. Screw one into the o2 spot. Then screw a 2nd one into that. Drill the 2nd one with a 1/2 bit. Screw your O2 back in, and good to go.

Plug the spark plugs into what? They also plug in OBDII to look for emissions related codes.

spark plug non foulers he meant, they back the o2 sensor out a little bit so it doesn't see as much fuel passing by. it is a way to beat the system so the computer thinks your cats are working properly when there is nothing there. I know that some vehicles have a system that checks every so often by throwing more fuel in to see if the sensors react, but I haven't tried on these trucks yet to see if they will work so I cannot verify.
