New product from Improved Racing works so well it really should be factory. Installed on my 2008 Yukon Denali with heavy duty towing/cooling package plus oversized Mishimoto radiator that took forever to warm up previously especially in the winter. Now cold rough shifts are gone in a minute or two, and it takes about 10-15 minutes to hit 140 in the cold.

Installed in an afternoon with a few fittings, hose, tubing cutter and a half a quart to top off after the fact. They don't have a complete kit yet but I believe they are working on it. Pretty simple to make the hoses, plus they will make custom hoses to order. You'll want to pull the front driveshaft if you have 4wd/awd too. Here is the parts list I used:

140* thermostat
90 elbow 6an oring to hose end45 elbow 6an oring to hose end (60 degree would work better for upper fitting or another 90 with a spacer so they don't hit)
x2 6an straight hose ends
x2 6an compression fittings
About 2' 6an hose

I see those avaliable to install inline as well.

Only concern i see is related to the later oem style, lots of reports of transmission fluid over temperature.

Kits avaliable to gut those units.

Inline from the same company or different? No way it will overtemp, once it hits 140 it opens to normal operations so as long as your cooling system is good, no problem. I haven't seen the newer oem setups, do they have a factory thermostat?

OEM went with a thermostat in later years than my tahoe.

and i think the inline comes from truecool...
I have seen a few others available as well.

the OEM has issues, it might be that the bypass is set too high.
but they do offer kits to gut the thermostat.

Are those just compression fittings?

Edit. I skimmed through. I see it’s compression at the end

I drove to Cleveland and back last weekend for a funeral, 447 miles. Outside temperature was in the 20s and the trans temp never got above 113. So this might have some value for winter months.
