If a lifter has collapsed, disabling AFM will not help as the damage has been done.I think my suv is lifter tickingIt was a BAD idea using AFM again
Oil pressure is good at 45PSI...
What should i do? now just use the disable chip?? to mitigate further damage?
it has not collapsed yet no misfiresIf a lifter has collapsed, disabling AFM will not help as the damage has been done.
Only a few main reasons a lifter “ ticks” that I’m aware of. There could be more.it has not collapsed yet no misfires
A collapsed lifter will not necessarily throw a code or cause noticeable vibration. We just had an AFM lifter collapse and no codes and no noticeable vibration.so if i keep it in v8 all the time would this minimize the chance for "complete failure"? i.e misfire condition tell i can get it fixed?
btw it has a non-interference engine... or Valve Relief Piston Kit

4) Your lifter rotated in the holder: probable
5) your rocker arm is loose: probable
if it was the other things it would misfire or bad vibration
btw it started happening while in V8 mode with the disabler chip
it's probably a broken exhaust manifold bolt i heard this can cause noises tooA collapsed lifter will not necessarily throw a code or cause noticeable vibration. We just had an AFM lifter collapse and no codes and no noticeable vibration.
