Hello to everyone on this amazing website! I am new here, but I have been looking around on this site for quite a while. I have an 08 yukon and I was just asking for someone's input on installing a sub under one of the captain chairs in the second row. I have seen this before in an older model escalade but i wasn't sure how it was done or how hard this would be. If anyone has done this or has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I just ordered this box:

http://cgi.ebay.com/07-GMC-Yukon-Ch...ultDomain_0&hash=item53e500dd3e#ht_1207wt_905

it's a custom built box for a single sub down-firing and built to fit flush in the middle of your two 2nd row captain's chairs. It's made sturdy enough so you can stand on it to get to the 3rd row! Also comes in charcoal, black, and tan carpet. I got the tan obviously since I have tan leather and even asked the guy to make it for a Kicker L7 10" sub. He also sells loaded ones with just sub or both sub/amp combos. It's more cost efficient to just order everything seperately though. I found some install pics of a JL 250/1 mono block sub amp to fit PERFECTLY under one of the captain's chairs that auto-fold so I just purchased one of those also I will hook up to it. I will be leaving the factory bose speakers/sub/amp (under center console) connected also so i'll have the 8" in the front and 10" in the back! I -was- going to get the MTX or JL Audio Stealth box but then that would mean replacing the Bose sub/amp factory set up which i'm VERY partial to so that was a dealbreaker. Plus I have third row seats so room is an issue. They also have a box that goes behind the third row seat that fits perfectly for 2 12's or 2 10's down-firing here:

How does the L7 sound in that box? I'm considering building a similar box or just ordering the same one from ebay, but I haven't decided which sub to buy...JL 10w6 is the other sub I'm considering, but the L7 is about $100 cheaper.

Also, where did you plug your pre-out for your amp? I also have the factory Bose system. Thanks!

for that small sealed, look at the Kicker CVX or Solo Classic, better suited than an L7 for that style box.

Just finished an install in my wifes 07 XL. I added a Digital Designs 1508 in a ported box with a Hifonics BXI608 amp. I used a line converter off the factory sub connection. The system sounds fantastic and really completed the Bose system. Here's a couple of pics of what I did.

I actually have the sub and port aimed at the right side panel of the XL. Now the wife can pile groceries on the enclosure without damaging the sub.

Man that 10" Kicker L7 has some crazy power for the size. Your install looks good!

The L7 sounds good. Technically the spec box for an L7 needs a bigger box, but I love the L7 because of the deep sound and I don't plan on turning it up very high(have it on -8 on the avic z110bt). It sounds great and i'm happy with the setup. It looks very stealth.

Yes it does. Had it in my nbs in a ported kicker branded box that was twice the size and twice as loud. But obviously, the sealed box sounds way cleaner.

Obviously it isn't the Kicker specs of the box, but i got it professionally built and it looks good and sounds good. On my AVIC-Z110BT I have it turned to -8 and it's more then enough. I love the L7 because it hits hard and hits the low frequency's real nice.. has a real good deep bass sound.

Pull out the carpet "riser" looking thing that's under the seat. It comes right up. You can install a REALLY REALLY shallow sub there... MAYBE. IMO just install it behind one of those chairs in a fiberglass box
