My oil pressure gauge is not reading the correct pressure...it is either fine or too low or at 0. Does anyone have experience with a good place that does repairs?

Would definitely try oil sending unit 1st. Cheap part, but pain to get to. On back of the block at the firewall.

It's either the oil sending unit, or else the stepper motors are failing just like you suspected. If you know ANYONE at all with a 03-06 GM full-size truck or SUV, then I would see if you could borrow their cluster for 5 minutes to see FOR SURE if it's the cluster or not. The cluster can be removed in less than 5 minutes with a 7mm nut driver or a 1/4inch ratchet with a 7mm socket . It's just four 7mm screws and one plug on the back. If your friends cluster has the oil pressure reading the same as yours was, then you know that you need an oil sending unit. If it's NOT acting up, then you need new stepper motors in your cluster.
