Interior mods

So I've browsed through trying to find some answers and haven't had any luck so maybe someone can help.

1) I have a front bench seat with flip down console. The console doesn't open very easily, I'm pretty sure the spring is really warn. Anybody ever tear one of these apart and fix it? I don't even know where to start, I looked up just replacing the whole thing but it was almost 200 dollars.

2) I can get a really good deal on a brand new flip down aftermarket dvd player (roof mounted) and my wife would like it. Problem is, I have rear a/c. I'm not sure where everything runs for the rear a/c and I would hate to drill into a line or something. Anybody have any suggestions on where I can mount it?

BTW I have a 98 4 door tahoe =D
