Normally when the battery light comes on I would expect that the alternator had gone bad. However my battery light is coming on intermittently. It will come on for about 20 to 30 seconds at which time the volt meter will drop to below 12V then the light will go out and everything is back to normal. This has been happening infrequently for the past month. This weekend while towing my trailer for about 2 hours with a lot of uphill sections, the light came on 18 times. But going home mostly downhill, it only came on twice. Any thoughts?
