iOS 8 + iPhone 5s = no texts in HMI hack all

It is my understanding that the iPhone can just display texts within the app but can't send. However, I have iOS 8 on my iPhone and nothing shows up in the app. I have text notifications on and the phone is connected. Anyone else have this issue or have any luck getting it to work?

I wonder if it has something to do with 8.0 having a different video out put or something? Most people will be shooting in the dark since 8.0 is not out yet (for most people)

The video output should have nothing to with Bluetooth transmission

didn't even think that text stuff was done via BT... completely skipped my mind.

Worked fine for me but again people need to understand it only shows the notifications that are text BANNERS when the phone is off and locked. You need to pair the phone again (delete on both sides) and turn on "show notifications" in the bluetooth settings for the device on the iPhone.

As buggy as the 8 betas have been it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't work at all for some builds though.

I tried this a few times in a 2015 Tahoe while at the dealer, and I never got the second option to show notifications.

I believe the phone needs to be connected via USB to work. This is what I was told by this gentleman who made the video.

Unless you have my programming it won't work anyhow. No USB required.
