iPod and Bluetooth Integration for 2008 Tahoe w/Nav

Guys -

I've done some poking around here, but there seems to be a real mixed message on this subject.

I recently picked up a Bluechip 2008 Tahoe LTZ with all the goodies.

What is my best route for getting iPod/iPhone control onto the touch screen and being able to use my phone in hands free mode? I understand these may be separate products (one modular products) but I'm interested in everyone's input. Pictures and descriptions of how they work for you is very helpful! Thank you for taking the time to respond!

That's a lovely piece, but I'd like to keep it as stock as possible and certainly would hope I can accomplish the mission for a budget less than $1,500. Thanks!

there are a couple of ways to go about doing this. You can do two separate modules and there are some different options there. i have used the USA Spec piece quite a lot and have had good success for the iPod/iPhone....

I have also used this PAC piece

Both pieces get the job done, but I like the USA spec piece better....it actually lets you touch control everything.
As far as Bluetooth goes...PAC also make a piece called BLU-GM29 which also works well and I have used a lot

Otherwise Parrot is always a great way to go...they have some pretty sweet stuff lately.

I have however recently found a new piece that covers both needs in one.

This piece will give you hands free that will allow you to use your steering wheel controls...just like factory and let you stream audio...way cheaper and more effective than doing both seperatly

Thanks for the information your sharing, I started looking at the CRUX BEEBG-33 and it seems like they have two versions. It seems that if you have 2012 NAV you need the CRUX BEEBG-33B but the question that I am trying to find an answer to is that is it just for the 2012 NAV or for all the units with NAV like the 2011,10...07 ? do we need the 33 version or the 33B? If anyone has any inputs on this please share. Thanks !

The 2012 and newer units are hard disk enabled....for that reason they use a different module.

I'm using the iSimple 571 in my 2008 Tahoe. I removed the iSimple cable and use a regular cigarette adapter wired into a hidden female cig plug.

The unit streams music via A2DP...caller ID on the radio display...and steering wheel controls to pickup and hang up. It works well.

I actually paid $600 for that unit new. But I was looking for better quality than my stock stuff.

I decided to go the cheap way and buy an auxilary audio cable instead of being invasive, but I did see that Bestbuy has a $200 adapter that would allow to connect iphone or any usb enabled smart phone to GM cars including the Tahoe. I didn't ask a sales person there about how well it works but could be an option if you feel that you really need ipod integration. My last car, a volvo s40 had the usb ipod integration which was nice and I wish the Tahoe had it but I've pretty much replaced all that with the $20 auxilary cable and $5 car charger.

I know this is a Month old but has anyone looked into the GROM unit? I just installed mine with the BT cable and its working OK. I say OK because on my Nav unit the display is very generic and there is a flicker where it displays the track # (GROM Techs working on fix)

Anyone going this route...I recommend the Bluefusion over the GROM. The Issues with GROM have yet to be fixed and it does not display any BT data on the headunit like the Blue Fusion does.
