Alright, I have a doosey for you electrical guru's here.. So, I did away with my cassette dock when I replaced my console with a jump seat.. I want to wire in a headphone style jack and a possible power supply to make the cd player read the iPod like a cassette.. Could it be that simple? Are two of the wires for audio and one a 'Supplied' power supply to make it read auxiliary?
Basically, what is the schematic for this bad boy? I haven't had luck finding it..

Okay, this looks like a well covered topic because I finally googled the 'right' thing today.. The most popular is splicing the pre amp audio wires and overriding the fm audio.. Well i don't like it. It looks like it takes 5volts to trigger the aux function through the data wire when a tape is inserted.. I'm going to find a way to fool the harness.. DAMN I love google

I was going to say the issue you will run into is the radio recognizing something other than the factory tape deck. I had similar issues trying to feed in something through the remote changer wiring in my Denali.

Yeah I couldn't get it to recognize it either so I'm going to play with the voltage through the data line.. It's gonna be a bit@h but not impossible

If all else fails I'm going with this 30$ option on a bidding site with bay in the name

for 37.99 on their site it would be sweet if it was that easy. My Garmin has a SAT radio built in and I have running through RF interface, I'm sure this would sound so much better. Plus I can put a SD card in the side of my Garmin for MP3 or books.

Living ez, that sounds a lot nicer than my 5 year old garmin lol.. but I think im going to let my curiosity run on this one.. I will figure this out the hard way! It has not been answered on google that I know of.. I know the electrical mechanic at the Chevrolet dealership and I'm going to stop in tomorrow and dig through some schematic paperwork.. Im going to plug a cassette into the deck tomorrow and test the dreaded data wire to see what she puts out.. I KNOW that I can wire in a regulator and make this dang thing work for 4 or 5 dollars
