I have noticed that the colder the temperature, the more irregular the Yuke idles while the motor warms up. I have replaced the plugs, and the plugs wires seem to have been replaced in the recent past. However, the A/C went out in the fall and I took the A/C belt off until I have the $300 for the replacement compressor. I don't think that is the issue but I could be wrong. Anyone else experience similar issues?

Might have an intake manifold leak or might be a simple need of seafoaming your truck and cleaning the TB! I'd try the seafoam and TB cleaning!

look on www.youtube.com then type in seafoam. Lots of stuff on there. Also it maybe a bad 02 sensor. Also when the 02s start to fail they normally don't turn the light on until its completely dead. Got bad mileage as well?

I checked it today when I filled up.....About 15 around town. So I guess it could be better. I'm going to look into sea foam and fuel filter, if that doesnt work then on to other things, 02 sensor, etc

02 will make it run rough especially when cold. But yeah, check the other stuff 1st.

Definitely start with removing and cleaning the throttle body. Install new seals while you're at it.

In most vehicles, the O2 sensors are not active in the first few minutes after start up since they are still cold. The PCM is basically running the engine on memory alone. After the sensor becomes responsive, the PCM starts reading it and processing the signal based on tables stored in it's memory to calculate injector and spark timing.

Hey Guys I'm New here and for the life of me should joined years ago... Anyway, I too am having some idle issues.... and even on stopping sometimes she'll shut down completely and my MPG has greatly decreased I've got a 01 Denali and am getting around 11.4 at least thats what she says... ... If I turn the A/C on she starts idling below 500 and acts very erratically ... What's this sea-foam and where do i get it? LOL...

As per what you have all said I am going to just go ahead and do the TBI cleanse and get new seals all around, seems as I might as well go ahead and change the 02 sensor... But aside of sea-foaming if anyone has another input, it would be hugely appreciated ....
Thanx in advance boys...

I too have low idle issues when ac is on. I have searched all over the internet for solutions. There are a few buleltins out there about this problem. Solutions range from flashing the pcm, pluggin hole on throttle body blade, and increasing the idle voltage on the throttle body using a GM tech 2 tool.

I tried cleaning the trottle body of the carbon buildup, changed fuel filters, change spark plugs, air filter, fuel pump, and i have replaced my 02 sensors but i still have low idle issues when the air conditioner compressor is on and the truck is in gear. If the truck is in park there are no issues when the AC is on. Also vice versa if the truck is in gear and AC is off there is no issues.

I got a 2001 Tahoe with 120,000 miles.
