Is it worth jumping to a 23 Ultimate Denali from 21 Denali?

My local dealer has an Onyx black Ultimate that a customer has backed out of. has Super cruise.

I have a 21 Denali with 13k miles, GMC black rims, regular Denali

Offer is 99k and they give me 72,500. Possible GM financing at 3.9 for 60 months.

Any opinions? I was planning on waiting for the refresh but not sure how big a deal that is. I trade every 3 years or so. This would be a year ahead of my normal schedule. Just asking for opinions.

I’d say that is espensive upgrade.

One way to look at it:
It’s costing you $26,500 for 13k miles, or about $2/mile.

That’s expensive driving…
Pretty much my thoughts over the weekend. My 21 is gorgeous and pristine. Seems like I am paying a lot for a little.

I paid 80 for my 21 Denali. So it has held value pretty good. I suspect the Ultimates will drop in vaue as they get into the market.

I think I will pass. I can wait till October 24.

The $ GMC wants for the upgrades to Ultimate aren't worth it IMO. Until I see some significant competition in the marketplace for these rigs, this 40+ year GM truck owner isn't going to pay this kind of money for what we get.

The upgrade/differences from my 21 Denail to the 23 Ultimate Denali
are:

retractable steps
upgraded interior seating
air ride adjustable
super cruise

These are the only things that seem to be lacking on my "regular" Denali. The super cruise seems intriguing. Will wait for fall 2024. A loaded SLT is probably the best buy for the buck in this line of Yukons.

It's worth considering. The 23 model may be the last one where you're not forced to go electric or hybrid.

for that amount, you could probably hire a part-time driver for the year!

If you paid 80, and they are offering 72.5.. Thats a 7500 loss to you. You cant relate the new vehicle to the second, although the same vehicle, its a different class (so to speak).

You are not going to get that type of trade in value anywhere else I dont think. Your basically paying for 57 cents per mile for the vehicle itself. I dont know the term of ownership to break it down month to month so.. Anyways, thats cheaper, by a long shot, than a regular lease would have been on the same vehicle.

Can you get that type of value from the new truck? Thats the great unknown!

If those options, and a new warranty, are worth it to you. It might be worth the gamble.

But, as I have said before, I wouldnt buy anything Gas GM 2019 and newer... Not until they get their poo figured out.

If you do take the jump... Get the biggest, and baddest factory warranty you can get!
If you dont take it, see about extending your current warranty?
