Is the dimmer icon supposed to light up?

hey I assume the dimmer icon is supposed to light up? Does it? If not, how do I replace the bulb ? All the other icons around it on mine do

I'm not referring to the little line in the dial, I'm asking about the little lightbulb icon next to it in the picture.

nope I've owned 4 of these trucks, two since brand new; they don't light.

I tore mine apart to fix another light a few years back and there was actually a piece of sticky tin foil thing stuck over that spot with no light bulb there, pretty sure they did that for the heat that is generated at that switch so it doesn't melt. Someone a few years back actually said that their 2000 NBS actually had a bulb there in their switch but GM must have changed it due to the heat issue!
