Is this Tahoe a good deal?

Is the steering wheel the only original part? Jesus. I'd personally steer clear of that.

I wouldn't sweat the carfax. Doesn't look bad. My Denali had an accident on the carfax but when I went to look at the truck, I couldn't tell what side was hit or where the damage was. After I bought it, I tracked down the original owner and asked him about the truck and accident. He said someone backed into it and it was minor damage. He took it to a body shop and removed the damage and paint, nothing big. The air bags never deployed either. Made me feel much better about the purchase. I got the service records for the truck too and the owner had little things replaced like bulbs, handle, dash and a few minor stuff. it was super clean and in great shape when I got it. I also feel I got a great deal. I could probably sell it now for $3-4k more than I paid for it. I think that truck is a good deal. Maybe offer them $23k?

I just ran a GM Vehicle Investigation on this vehicle and I noticed a few things you may want to know.

1. This was originally a FLEET vehicle.

2. 09/20/2007 B17914 ZREG----Regular Vehicle Transaction I2000 - GM INSTALLED MILITARY EQUIPMENT FOR CUCV VEHICLES ONLY 4,202 MI

I am not sure what they replaced for the CUCV (Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle) although this may be why front half axle was replaced. I could not pull up the original invoice either to see it.

3. Vehicle was originally delivered to Federal Prison Industries in Bastrop, Tx so the truck could have some nice upgrades but who knows.

Thanks randuff,

Is this info available online? I only found a login only site. Thanks.

Bellis--

I was hoping you could add a little more to this comment. I'm honestly not a huge truck buff, but this one speaks to me. I only see the slight lift and and ranch hand as not stock. What am I missing? thanks.

A little background--

Thanks all the help. Last month I turned 40. My mom died a few weeks ago. I'm changing career directions, and I unavoidably had to sell my house... the only home my kids (3 and 5) have known.

Some decide to go through a mid-life crises, but mine came to me. My answer is to buy a Tahoe and drive from Texas to Montana. It's a new chapter, and I want something bad ass to deliver me there. What I don't want to be stranded on the side of the road in Colorado.

I paid about 3000 less for my 2007 lt3 with 51,000 but it is 2 wheel dive. That was 2 years ago!
